Breastfeeding/chestfeeding is one of the most natural interactions between a parent and child. But that doesn't mean it's always easy. There is a learning curve for both parties. If you or your baby are struggling, we want to help.

Lactation Consultations

We want to see you succeed no matter what obstacles you are facing. These might include:

  • Sore or damaged nipples
  • Concerns about your milk supply
  • Concerns about your baby's weight gain
  • Being told you need to supplement
  • Severe engorgement
  • Difficulty getting a comfortable latch
  • History of difficulty feeding with older children

We can help you if you are:

  • exclusively feeding human milk (via latching and/or pumping)
  • combination feeding human milk and formula
  • combination feeding human milk and solids
  • in some cases we can even help you if you're exclusively formula feeding

Office Visits

Our office is located at 800 Columbiana Dr, Suite 116, Irmo, SC 29063

We are located on the side of the Muv Fitness building; we have a business listing on Google Maps that should bring you right to our front door.

Our visit fee is $150, payable at the time of service if not covered by insurance.

We file claims with Tricare, United Healthcare, and The Lactation Network.

We accept all major credit/debit cards, including FSA/HSA cards.

Home Visits

We offer home visits in the greater Columbia, SC region.

Our service area is within 30 minutes of our office location.

This includes Columbia, Lexington, Irmo, Ballentine, West Columbia, Forest Acres, Chapin, and more.

Our home visits have an additional travel fee of $50, payable at the time of service. Insurance will not cover the travel fee.

Tricare families are ineligible for home visits at this time. TLN families may pay just the travel fee if they choose.

We accept all major credit/debit cards, including FSA/HSA cards.

Telehealth

Our first choice is for an in person visit, however, if circumstances necessitate a virtual visit we are able to do so via a HIPAA complaint platform.

Our telehealth fee is $100, payable via Square invoice. If your insurance will cover in-person visits it will likely also cover telehealth.

Insurance Coverage

We are pleased to be partnering with the Lactation Network as part of our ongoing efforts to increase access to care. The Lactation Network is an insurance billing company, specifically for lactation consultants. Approved families have no out of pocket cost for office visits. We encourage you to check for coverage by filling out their form here when you request your appointment.

 

We are IN-NETWORK with most UHC plans!

Please double check your specific plan, or contact us for verification.
If you have UHC you do not need to fill out the form with TLN.

We are a TRICARE East certified facility

TRICARE Prime and Standard beneficiaries are eligible to receive up to 6 office visits with no out of pocket cost. Referrals are not required.
If you are a Tricare beneficiary you do not need to fill out the form with TLN.

Reimbursement

Lactation support supplies and services are required to be covered by ACA compliant insurance plans. We are happy to help you and share whatever information we may have that may help you with reimbursement. Advocating for better policies and coverage compliance is something we are actively involved in.
