Careers
Are you passionate about lactation? Helping new families? Access to care? Come join our team!
Benefits include:
- Competitive pay, because warm fuzzies don't pay the bills.
- Flexible schedule, because babies don't care what time it is.
- Company device and phone number, because families need support outside business hours but you need boundaries and a work-life balance.
- Continuing education benefit, because when you grow, we grow.
- Retirement plan with company contributions, so you don't have to work forever.
- Working in a kick ass environment with the best people who look out for each other like family (but in a healthy way).
Who We Are
By being open and transparent about ourselves we hope to attract those who hold similar values and will help us maintain the high levels of patient care that we are known for. These are our core values:
Accessibility
We believe families should have access to quality care that is within their family budget and resources. We work hard to ensure the insurance coverage families already pay for covers their lactation support the way the law intended it to. We continually advocate for improved accessibility.
Relationships
We value the relationship between families and their lactation professional. Families have one primary lactation professional and have the ability to contact them with questions regarding care plans, follow up, and progress outside of a formal visit. Parents have the right to change their primary provider at any time, for any reason, without judgement.
Sustainability
We are dedicated to the sustainability of our practice. We know that we serve no one by undervaluing our services and going out of business. Our goal is to balance meeting business profitability needs with the accessibility needs of our community members. We are also dedicated to the sustainability of our staff and strive to support them in finding a work-life balance that fits their family.
Inclusivity
We are an intentionally inclusive practice. We are inclusive of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and religions. Beyond being for inclusion, we are actively against any form of discrimination and work to participate in dismantling systemic racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, and any other form of discrimination. We use our privilege to support and amplify marginalized voices in our community.
Additionally, we are inclusive of all lactation credentials and do not subscribe to intra-profession division or hierarchy. Each credential has a place in serving the community and each is valued.
Evidence-Informed Practice and Patient Centered Care
We practice using an integrative and patient-centered model of care that follows an evidence-informed practice model. “Evidence-informed practice means integrating the best available evidence from the systemic research with individual clinical expertise and the patient’s needs and preferences. … So, like evidence-based medicine, evidence-informed practice is also informed by science and research, but it is more person-centered.”
Ethics
We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standard and our number one priority is appropriate patient care and what is best for each individual family we serve.
Abundance Mindset
We operate from a place of abundance and believe there is enough for everyone in our practice, in our community, and in our profession. We reject the patriarchal and misogynistic roots of the scarcity mindset that would like to tell us "there isn't enough."
Education
We never assume that we have all the knowledge. We participate in and learn from ongoing education in all forms, including shared patient experience, clinical experience, books, and formal courses.
